Across the diocese, lay and ordained pioneers are coming up with new and innovative ways of sharing the good news of Jesus, discipling people in the faith, and serving the needs of local communities.
The Department for Pioneering here supports them in that work, as well as providing training, resources and oversight to a growing network of pioneer communities in the London Diocese.
If you’re new to pioneering, you can find out more here.
Here’s just some of what we do:
Missional Communities London
One type of pioneer church is the missional community. We work with a growing network of missional communities. Find out more about MCs here.
The School of Pioneers
In partnership with CMS, The Department for Pioneering trains authorised lay pioneers in the London Diocese – for more information, click here.
A Miscellany of Missional Community
The Department for Pioneering has developed a Miscellany of ideas, images, tips, and tricks for how to start, lead and be part of a Missional Community – click here for more.
A fresh expression of church is a new gathering or network that engages mainly with people who have never been to church. There is no single model, but the emphasis is on starting something which is appropriate to its context, rather than cloning something that works elsewhere.
